Avondale Apiary produces Savannah’s truly local honey and is the only Certified Naturally Grown Apiary in Southeast Georgia.
Avondale Apiary produces Savannah’s truly local honey. The Apiary is located in East Savannah’s Avondale neighborhood on the former site of the Roper Dairy and produces a limited supply of honey each year. There is over 2400 acres of undeveloped land on which our bees forage, with many different native wild flowers and trees that blossom throughout the year. Avondale is the only Apiary in Southeast Georgia to carry Certified Naturally Grown credentials. We do not use any chemical pesticides or insecticides in the management of our bees and there is no commercial use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides or insecticides within the bees foraging radius. This high quality, all natural honey is harvested in July each year and is packaged raw. It is a medium to dark amber in color and is uniquely floral with hints of caramel and spices. We are sure you’ll agree that it is among the finest honey’s you have ever tasted!
